Music is my medicine

One of the positives about having one more year left of law school (!) is that it means I'm staying put in my city for at least another year, which also means I get to stay in choir.

We got our 2012/2013 schedule of concerts yesterday, and I am so. excited. We're doing the Mozart Requiem, Barber's Agnus Dei, Handel's Messiah, a whole concert of Broadway songs, a Jubilee Celebration with pieces from British composers like Vaughan Williams, and lots of other wonderful stuff across six concerts. If I could do cartwheels, I totally would.

We also have a brand new director this year, and lots of new members, or so I've heard (some cute boys, perhaps?).

I notice when I read blogs by other arthritis patients or people with chronic illnesses that when they are talking about something they love, illness doesn't seem to matter so much (check out Cathy's post about teaching ESL students!). Fun and real engagement are pretty great medicines.

Yay! This is great news. My family always makes fun of me because I have absolutely no musical ability or even interest. I must be the strangest person alive. I am happy that you have found something you love. Enjoy it!

PS - thanks for sharing a link to my blog. :)
